Solar Electrician in Westport, CA

Solar electrician questions from Westport customers

Why does my panel need an upgrade for solar?

Code limits how much solar current can be fed into a panel's bus bar. Older or smaller panels often cannot accept a full-size system without an upgrade or a different interconnection method.

Can you repair a solar system another company installed?

Yes. We diagnose and repair the electrical side of existing systems, including wiring, breakers, disconnects and inverter replacements.

Does solar still make sense under California's net billing rules?

Export credits are lower than under the older net metering programs, which is why most new systems are paired with a battery to use more of the solar power on site. Run the numbers for your own usage and rate plan.
